• Sue was co-author of an amicus curiae brief submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of SHRM in 2002 in the first FMLA case to be heard by the high court (Ragsdale v. Wolverine Worldwide, Inc.). The brief included the very argument relied upon by the Supreme Court in reaching its decision.
  • Sue is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (since 1983), the SHRM-Kansas City chapter (since 1983), and the SHRM-Johnson County, Kansas chapter (since 2013). From 1999 through 2003, she served on the prestigious SHRM national Employee and Labor Relations Committee.
  • Sue is on the Board of Directors (since 2009) for the Greater Kansas City Business Leadership Network, comprised of local businesses which support and promote disability inclusion in the workplace.
  • Sue is a frequent speaker at local and state SHRM conferences and has spoken at the MO-SHRM, KS-SHRM, and CO-SHRM state conferences in recent years.
