Overview

Kristen Petry has significant experience representing health care providers in complex litigation and regulatory matters. Her practice focuses on medical malpractice defense and health law, where she advises hospitals, physician groups, individual healthcare professionals and health care organizations on a broad range of legal and regulatory issues. Her litigation experience also includes general liability matters representing health care clients in premises liability and other personal injury claims.

In addition to her litigation practice, Kristen advises health care clients on regulatory compliance and risk management. She assists clients with developing and reviewing policies and procedures, HIPAA compliance, confidentiality requirements regarding substance use disorder records, and other issues affecting the day-to-day delivery of health care. As health care organizations increasingly incorporate artificial intelligence into clinical and administrative operations, she advises clients on legal, regulatory, privacy, and risk management considerations associated with the use of AI in health care.

Kristen also represents health care professionals in matters before state licensing and regulatory boards, including physicians, nurses, dentists and chiropractors. She brings both a litigator’s perspective and understanding of the regulatory environment to her work with all health care clients.
