Katherine G. Coyle
Overview
Kathie Coyle helps individuals, families, and tax-exempt organizations navigate estate planning, charitable giving, and governance matters so they can achieve their personal, philanthropic, and organizational objectives.
For more than 30 years, Kathie has advised clients on sophisticated estate planning strategies designed to preserve wealth, support charitable goals, and facilitate effective wealth transfer across generations. A significant portion of her practice involves helping charitably inclined individuals and families develop philanthropic strategies through private foundations, charitable trusts, and other planned giving vehicles. She is particularly experienced in addressing the complex intergenerational considerations that often accompany charitable and wealth-transfer planning.
Kathie also counsels a broad range of tax-exempt organizations, including educational institutions, hospitals, civic groups, professional societies, religious organizations, and social welfare organizations. She advises clients on organizational formation, tax-exempt qualification, governance, and ongoing compliance matters, helping organizations establish strong foundations for long-term success.
Boards of directors and trustees regularly turn to Kathie for guidance on governance, indemnification, and insurance issues affecting tax-exempt entities. Her extensive experience serving nonprofit organizations enables her to provide practical counsel tailored to the unique legal and operational challenges they face.
Notably, one of the organizations that Kathie established for a client received the Nobel Peace Prize.
