Overview

James Jaworski helps clients navigate a wide variety of intellectual property matters, diligently positioning creative property within relevant regulatory frameworks to bring protected, high-performing products and business offerings to market. His focus areas include protection and enforcement of copyright and trademarks, including clearance, prosecution, litigation analyses, and TTAB actions; due diligence; IP portfolio management; and advising on business strategy, including LLC formation.

James previously served as a real estate attorney, gaining diverse, multidisciplinary experience he uses to navigate complex, high-stakes matters in rapidly evolving sectors, including artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency. Since beginning his career in IP law, he dedicates his energy to learning and integrating cutting-edge legal technology tools to hone a practice that strategically embraces emerging opportunities while remaining at the forefront of evolving technologies and associated regulations.

While earning his Juris Doctor, James served as a federal judicial extern for the Honorable Benita Pearson in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

  • Served as counsel to the world’s largest neurosurgical society in connection with the development and deployment of an AI-based medical chatbot.
  • Represented unicorn crypto client in preparing proposal for the management and liquidation of almost $5 billion worth of assets in top-tier cryptocurrency seized by the U.S. government, including advising on form of representations and warranties, guiding client through complicated SAM process, and reviewing proposal for compliance with contract solicitation requirements.
  • Represented private equity client in the acquisition of five holding companies with nearly 100 cell tower assets, including coordinating team of more than 30 lawyers during diligence period, negotiating with seller’s counsel, and overseeing an approximately $250 million closing.
