Overview

Hilary Velandia helps health care providers navigate complex regulatory, operational, transactional, and dispute-related matters so they can remain compliant, manage risk, and focus on delivering quality patient care.

For more than 15 years, Hilary has represented a broad range of health care organizations, including hospitals, managed care entities, ambulatory surgery centers, long-term care facilities, hospice providers, behavioral health providers, home health agencies, pharmacies, and physician groups. Clients rely on her practical guidance in addressing the legal and regulatory challenges facing today’s health care industry.

She advises clients on false claims act investigations, agency appeals, licensing matters, overpayment appeals, civil investigative demands, self-disclosures, payor-provider disputes, contract disputes, and litigation and arbitration matters. Her experience helps clients navigate complex regulatory frameworks while minimizing operational disruption.

Hilary also counsels health care providers on day-to-day operational and compliance issues, including medical staff governance, payor-provider agreements, Conditions of Participation, EMTALA, HIPAA, fraud and abuse laws, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Stark Law. By combining regulatory, litigation, and transactional experience, she provides comprehensive guidance tailored to the evolving needs of health care organizations.
