Dontan K. (Don) Hart

Overview
Don Hart defends some of the world’s largest manufacturers of automotive vehicles, recreational vehicles, heavy equipment, and consumer and industrial products in multiple jurisdictions in state and federal court. An experienced litigator, he has defended multinational clients in technical and complex matters involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death.
In his practice, Don has specific experience with matters involving crashworthiness, restraint systems, rollover, unintended acceleration, and fire. With a commitment to acquiring a comprehensive understanding of the design and manufacturing of products, Don has worked with various technical experts in mechanical engineering, accident reconstruction, restraint systems, biomechanics, and fire cause and origin to develop strategies that mitigate challenges and enhance the strengths of each client’s case. He is skilled in pre-suit investigation and consultation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Prior to entering private practice, Don worked in the property and casualty insurance industry for more than a decade, where he gained technical experience in automotive damage analysis and repairs, a skill set he has continued to hone to develop more effective strategies for his clients.
