Yana Rusovski to Speak at Two Upcoming Engagements: ABA Business Law Fall Meeting and Chicago Apartment Association Webinar

August 14, 2026

Spencer Fane attorney Yana Rusovski is slated to present at two upcoming sessions: the American Bar Association (ABA) 2026 Business Law Fall Meeting held at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago and a fair housing webinar on behalf of Chicagoland Apartment Association (CAA), sponsored by Spencer Fane.

The ABA Business Law Fall Meeting is an annual CLE and networking program where legal thought leaders from around the world cover the latest business law trends and developments. Yana will serve as a panelist on Thursday, September 3, for a Consumer Financial Services Committee session titled, “Regulation B Rewritten: CFPB’s ECOA Overhaul, Disparate Impact, Discouragement and Special Purpose Credit Programs.” During the presentation, Yana and her fellow panelists will discuss how the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) implementation of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) within Regulation B will impact regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations for lenders and creditors, as well as how consumer finance attorneys should approach the many new industry implications, including risks for AI-driven lending and other emerging financial technologies.

Then, on Wednesday, September 16, Yana will lead the CAA webinar, “Surviving Fair Housing Investigations in the Age of AI: What Illinois Apartment Owners Need to Know.” She will provide practical guidance on navigating fair housing investigations and enforcement actions with a focus on how complaints are initiated and evaluated by HUD and the Illinois Department of Human Rights. Session attendees – which will include local and regional apartment owners, property managers, regional managers, asset managers, and multifamily operations professionals – will learn how emerging technologies such as AI are shaping enforcement priorities and creating new compliance risks.

At the firm, Yana Rusovski focuses on regulatory compliance, preventive counseling, and defending against enforcement actions, informed by her prior leadership experience at HUD. She regularly helps clients identify and manage fair housing and fair lending risks and specializes in developing carefully tailored strategies to resolve disputes in ways that safeguard business goals, reputations, and relationships. She also co-leads the firm’s Mortgage Regulatory Market Team.

The ABA is a 140-year-old membership community of legal professionals committed to defending liberty and pursuing justice. The Business Law Fall Meeting gathers managing partners, in-house counsel, government regulators, judges, and other leading business law practitioners from around the world for more than 150 sessions.
