Spencer Fane attorney Wale Akinmoladun was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House Charities – Kansas City (RMHC-KC), where he will offer support to uphold the organization’s strategic vision and mission.
In this leadership role, Wale will be involved in Board and Committee meetings, fundraising efforts, and succession planning, among other tasks. The RMHC-KC offers assistance to families with sick children by providing them care and the resources they need, including a place for families to stay while a child receives medical care.
This organization has a deeper meaning to Wale. In July 2012, Wale’s son, Sammy, spent over a month in Children’s Mercy Kansas City’s neonatal intensive care unit. Wale and his wife, Andrea, quickly learned that RMHC-KC had family rooms within the hospital that allowed them to stay close to Sammy. Sammy is now a healthy nine-year-old. Wale’s work on the Board will help families stay close to their kids during difficult times.
