The Missouri Bar Civil Practice and Procedure Committee Fall Meeting

December 10, 2021

Spencer Fane attorney Arthur Gregg recently presented at The Missouri Bar Civil Practice and Procedure Committee Fall Meeting on tips for successful depositions.

Titled “Striking a Balance on Deposition Objections,” Arthur’s presentation discussed best practices for asserting (and responding to) objections during depositions. Arthur also discussed strategies for instructing witnesses not to answer, moving for a protective order in the middle of a deposition, and, if all else fails, adjourning a deposition.

Through his leadership role with the Civil Practice and Procedure Committee, Arthur works to ensure that members of the Missouri Bar have the resources and opportunities to “become more effective advocates for their clients.” This includes the planning of various committee meetings for the Missouri Bar and acting as a liaison between legislators, judges, and attorneys on issues related to civil practice and procedure.
