Spencer Fane attorney Stephen Zralek returned to the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC)’s annual Midyear Meeting as a speaker on February 10 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The IADC is a global, invitation-only association of corporate attorneys that focuses on education, professional development, and connection. Stephen has been an active member of the organization since 2020, serving in several leadership roles. At this year’s Midyear Meeting, he was a panelist for the CLE, Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me … About IP! Stephen was joined by Maureen Mahoney (Hackensack Meridian Health), Jay Mattappally (Irwin Fritchie Urquhart Moore & Daniels), and Mark Melasky (Intellectual Property Consulting). Borrowing its energy and style of questions from the hit radio show Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me!, this interactive session put a Mardi Gras spin on intellectual property law. Using multiple question styles, the panelists and host highlighted legal challenges that touch on music, art, branding, and daily life. Audience members likewise got to participate and even win prizes while ultimately developing a deeper understanding of how copyright, licensing, trademarks, and other IP issues shape both the legal world and the culture around us.
At Spencer Fane, Stephen is an accomplished litigator who helps clients resolve business and intellectual property disputes in federal and state courts, arbitration, and mediation. Clients seek Stephen’s advice as a result of his experience in the courtroom, his creative problem-solving, his tenacity, and his engaging approach.
