Spencer Fane welcomes Samuel Thomas to Houston office’s Tax, Trusts, and Estates practice

June 29, 2020

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Samuel Thomas has joined the firm’s Houston office as of counsel in the Tax, Trusts, and Estates practice group.

Samuel focuses his practice on the representation of high net-worth individuals, families and fiduciaries of trusts and estates with respect to estate planning, probate, estate and trust administration, closely-held business succession planning, entity formations, and wealth preservation.

He has extensive experience in trust and estate administrations that involve complex assets and trust structures that often require implementing tax strategies to minimize federal gift and estate taxes.

“Spencer Fane remains committed to the Houston market, and we are pleased to add another experienced resource to our bench in this office,” said Patrick J. Whalen, Spencer Fane managing partner. “Our firm remains committed to providing full service to our clients in the markets where they do business, and we will not waver from that in the current business environment. We continue to approach our work with a focus on standards of humility, collaboration, empowerment, resiliency and resolve.”

Prior to entering private practice, Samuel served as a law clerk for the Honorable Rory Olsen of Harris County Probate Court No. 3, Houston, Texas. He completed his undergraduate studies at Houston Baptist University before earning his Juris Doctor from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
