Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome Clay M. Taylor to the firm’s Plano, Texas, office as a partner in the Bankruptcy, Restructuring, and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group.
Clay represents secured creditors, debtors, committees of unsecured creditors, Chapter 11 trustees, liquidating trustees, and other parties in a wide range of bankruptcy and restructuring matters, with extensive experience managing asset acquisitions, divestitures, financings, and restructurings.
A full-service client advocate, Clay advises on strategic options, conducts thorough due diligence, and negotiates and documents transactions, financings, restructurings, and asset or equity sales specific to short- and long-term legal and business objectives. His high adaptability allows him to serve clients across diverse industries, including retail, manufacturing, banking, real estate, aviation, construction, oil and gas, and energy.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Business Administration cum laude from Texas A&M University, Clay earned his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law.
Outside of private practice, Clay is engaged in several bar associations and other legal societies, and previously served as president of the Tarrant County Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section.
