Spencer Fane was pleased to sponsor UT Law’s 28th annual Advanced Patent Law Institute on November 2-3 in Austin. Attorneys Erick Robinson and DJ Healey represented the firm at the event and also served as conference speakers.
The Advanced Patent Law Institute is the most prestigious patent law seminar in the Southwestern U.S. and covers the latest developments in patent law. Erick and DJ were among many nationally recognized faculty to speak on a sophisticated array of prosecution and litigation topics.
On November 2, Erick presented the session SEP Licensing and Litigation Update, which provided a detailed look at regulatory developments surrounding standard essential patents. The following day, DJ led the presentation Strategic Advantages and Disadvantages of Post Grant Review. This session discussed the unique opportunities and problems that post grant reviews can bring in the first nine months after issuing a patent.
