Spencer Fane attorneys Wale Akinmoladun and Alden Smith led an engaging, half-day educational discussion for business leaders and HR professionals titled Remember the Team: Building Trust and Vision in the Era of AI and Social Media Use at Higginbotham’s quarterly seminar on February 13 in Branson, Missouri.
Using short and effective clips from the 2000 film Remember the Titans, Wale and Alden explored how the hiring and employment decisions within the movie shaped leadership and team culture in the face of new obstacles and challenges. They connected those lessons to real-world compliance considerations arising from the rapidly evolving landscape of AI and social media use, including analyzing enacted and proposed AI and employment-related statutes from Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas, respectively. Wale and Alden also examined ongoing litigation involving workplace use of AI tools to highlight possible challenges that could impact attendees’ respective teams.
The seminar invited business leaders to think critically about trust, culture, and vision while navigating emerging technologies and shifting legal obligations, and the Spencer Fane team offered practical insights for attendees to consider and apply within their organizations.
