Spencer Fane Strengthens Intellectual Property Practice Group in Phoenix

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce William Kelly has joined the Intellectual Property Practice Group as an associate in the firm’s Phoenix office.

Kelly brings experience handling all aspects of IP law with a specific emphasis on preparing and prosecuting foreign and domestic patent applications for software and information technology.

Kelly previously studied computer science at the University of Arizona, where he gained in-depth knowledge of computer networking, databases, operating systems and programming techniques.

In addition, Kelly has experience contributing to open-source online programming projects and helping to beta-test independently developed online software.

After completing undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, Kelly earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Kelly joins a team of three IP attorneys in the Spencer Fane Phoenix office, strengthening the bench in the local market. “As we continue to grow our preparation and prosecution abilities in Phoenix we’ve focused on finding laterals that truly understand our clients’ businesses,” said Steven Laureanti, IP lead in Phoenix and a partner for Spencer Fane. “Will brings a wealth of knowledge in computer science that will make a great addition to our practice, and expand our ability to serve our clients.”
