Spencer Fane was proud to sponsor United WE’s national We Work for Change event on September 12 in Kansas City. In addition to several virtual attendees, the firm was represented at the event by staff member Bernadette Lawson.
United Women’s Empowerment – United WE – is a nonpartisan nonprofit that strives to advance all women’s economic and civic leadership and foster meaningful change through research, advocacy, policy solutions, and civic engagement. Their annual We Work for Change event raises funds for and awareness of their work, priorities, and results in areas such as affordable childcare, pay equity, paid family leave, occupational licensing, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement.
This year’s We Work for Change gathered women, men, and allies at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and virtually through a nationwide live stream. Attendees experienced an engaging program that included a raffle and keynote from ABC News Live Anchor Linsey Davis. In-person guests also enjoyed docent-led tours of women-focused art exhibits and a cocktail reception.
