Spencer Fane Honors Jewish and Black History at Holocaust Museum Houston Event

June 20, 2024

Spencer Fane was honored to host a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)-focused client event at the Holocaust Museum Houston (HMH) on June 4.

Held in honor of May’s Jewish American Heritage Month and June’s Juneteenth, this Night at the Museum with Spencer Fane allowed attendees to contemplate the profound lessons woven into the most uncomfortable chapters of history. After enjoying a reception that included drinks and appetizers, participants received a private museum tour from Spencer Fane attorney Al Hiller, an HMH volunteer docent who was recently elected to the museum’s Board of Advisors. The experience included walk-throughs led by both Al and his wife / fellow volunteer docent Alice of the Bearing Witness (Holocaust), Human Rights, and Kinsey African American Art & History exhibits, which serve as testaments to the indomitable human spirit.

Hosting DEI-focused events like this is a component of ongoing, intentional efforts to enhance the inclusive culture at Spencer Fane. Through events and programs spearheaded by the Spencer Fane DEI Committee, the firm provides social and educational opportunities internally and externally to confront challenging DEI-related topics head-on. More importantly, these initiatives provide safe spaces to connect with, respect, and celebrate the multicultural experiences that enrich our firm and the communities in which it is immersed.
