Spencer Fane is pleased to once again have a presence at the annual State Bar of Arizona Convention. Attorneys Norma Izzo and Kami Hoskins will speak at the 2025 gathering on June 23 in Phoenix.
This annual conference provides CLE, networking, exhibit, dining, and entertainment opportunities across three days. Under this year’s theme, Defending and Advancing the Rule of Law, Norma and Kami will provide thought leadership on family law and equal justice, respectively.
For the Intersection of Criminal and Family Law session, Norma and her fellow panelists will present a comprehensive overview that delves into issues such as domestic violence, orders of protection, law enforcement involvement, drug convictions, and the impact of criminal allegations on divorce disputes. The discussion will instruct attendees on the best practices for handling sensitive cases where family and criminal matters converge, offering practical insights into managing complex cases that require knowledge in both areas of the law.
Kami’s interactive seminar – Can We Talk? Increasing Public Trust Through Equal Justice for All – will harness the Arizona Town Hall method to create facilitated discussions that highlight challenges for achieving equal justice and consider how lawyers can address these problems. The panel will consider factors such as public trust, inequality, and diversity.
At last year’s convention, Patrick Derksen co-presented a labor and employment law session focused on access to justice issues in the employment context, including: disability-related employment issues and trends in enforcement, potential ethical challenges for pro bono work, union organizing issues and trends, social media-related defamation issues, and more.
