Spencer Fane Adds Experienced Litigator to Springfield Office

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Chris Weiss has joined the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group as an of counsel attorney in the firm’s Springfield, Missouri, office.

Weiss is recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America© and has over twenty-two years’ experience and a proven track record as a trusted advisor and accomplished trial attorney serving clients across a wide spectrum of industries. He enjoys developing a deep knowledge of his clients, their businesses and goals, and working proactively to craft and implement creative strategies to achieve their objectives while minimizing the risks associated with litigation. When litigation arises, Weiss is a formidable advocate, helping clients navigate their most complex and important litigation matters. Weiss has a broad background in general civil and commercial litigation. He handles a wide range of matters, including those involving class-actions, real estate, land use and zoning, construction disputes, creditor’s rights and bankruptcy matters, timeshare law, condominium law, consumer protection law, employment law, fiduciary, trust and estate litigation, restrictive covenants, and trademark matters. Weiss practices in state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies.

Weiss completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame and earned his Juris Doctor from the Saint Louis University School of Law. Prior to entering private practice, he completed a clerkship with the Hon. Paul J. Simon in the Missouri Court of Appeals.

In addition to his more traditional legal work, Weiss has also been recognized for his commitment to pro bono efforts and civic involvements. In 2020, he was awarded with the Missouri Bar’s Pro Bono Publico Award for his outstanding voluntary commitment to pro bono services. He has chaired the boards of directors for the Springfield Art Museum, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks, the Downtown Springfield Association, the Urban Districts Alliance, and The Think Big Foundation of Missouri. Weiss also founded and serves on the boards for the Springfield Art Museum Foundation and The Think Big Foundation of Missouri. Weiss is President of the Cinnamon Square Property Owners Association, and he serves as a board member and volunteer coach for the Springfield Catholic Softball Association, and is a coach for Southwest Missouri Rush Soccer Club.
