February 26, 2026

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome Tawnza Kring as a senior associate in the Real Estate Practice Group. She is based in Orange County, California, and affiliated with the San Jose, California, office.

Tawnza provides strategic counsel for a wide range of real estate matters with a focus on multi-family housing, applying her extensive industry knowledge and status as a licensed real estate broker to guide clients through federal, state, and local regulations; enforce necessary compliance measures; and resolve disputes when necessary.

As former in-house counsel for a leading California property management company, Tawnza provides robust, full-service representation for property owners, developers, and management companies. This includes drafting agreements and contracts, advising on Fair Housing Act requirements and related regulations, and resolving operational issues and tenant disputes.

“Tawnza joins the firm with niche skills acquired from a specialized legal path that will undoubtedly complement our dynamic, national real estate practice,” said Karen McCay, office managing partner for Spencer Fane in San Jose and Santa Monica. “We are thrilled to welcome her to our tight-knit team of talented real estate attorneys here in San Jose, who can offer decades of insights gained from multi-family housing and broader industry experience.”

Tawnza began her legal career within a California law firm which specifically represented homeowner associations and common interest developments, where she gained an in-depth understanding of community association and real estate law for condominium, planned-unit, cooperative, commercial, and mixed-use development associations.

After obtaining her bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands, Tawnza earned her Juris Doctor from Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law.
