Spencer Fane attorney Shawn Tuma was a panelist for YouAttest’s webinar, Cyber Security and Cyber Law – Identity Governance Matters, on February 27.
The panel discussed the legal responsibility organizations hold in an era of increasing data breach lawsuits and provided cybersecurity advice. Shawn explained “due care” and “negligence” in relation to the cyber industry: “Reasonable cybersecurity is a process, it’s not a definition,” he shared. “It’s engaging in the process of assessing and understanding your risk…then your execution and strategic planning…and that’s how you find what is really due care.”
