Spencer Fane attorney Shawn Tuma was recently interviewed by KPRC AM 950 on the cybersecurity concerns surrounding a new app that can identify a person using only a candid photo.
Titled “Your Anonymity May be a Thing of the Past,” the article describes how law enforcement has been able to use the app to solve crime.
Shawn explains that app has major risks as well: “Potential murderers or abductors can look at someone and can immediately find out where they live, and what their phone number is and if they have children. The potential uses for this for bad purposes is just frightening.”
