Spencer Fane attorney Shawn Tuma recently published an article featured in the Texas Bar Journal covering cybersecurity and best practices for protecting information.
In the article, Shawn breaks down ransomware and addresses common cybersecurity questions. He discusses a recent memo issued by the White House concerning ransomware threats, new information provided by the United States Department of Justice and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, cybersecurity vendors, and recovery and response scenarios.
“Every type of organization with a computer connected to the internet is at risk,” Shawn explained in the article. “This ranges from global enterprises down to small ‘mom and pop’ shops, in every type of industry and every level of sophistication.”
Shawn goes onto explain preventative measures, noting that organizations should conduct a risk analysis, backup data, and prepare incident response plans, among others.
