Spencer Fane attorney Scott Woody moderated an American Bar Association (ABA) webinar sponsored by the organization’s Litigation and Young Lawyers Division on July 10.
The session, How to Improve Your Opening Statement, provided both new and seasoned litigators the opportunity to refine their opening statement techniques. Scott moderated a discussion with panelists David Kent of Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath and David Scott of Brennan Manna Diamond. Using real-world examples and best practices, they covered how to effectively structure an opening statement, incorporate compelling themes and visuals, and avoid common pitfalls.
Founded in 1878, the ABA is the largest voluntary association of lawyers and legal professionals in the world. The organization works to promote quality legal education, competence, ethical conduct and professionalism, and pro bono and public service work in the legal profession.
