Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome Tyler Hardman to the firm’s Salt Lake City office as an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group.
Tyler most recently served as a legal analyst for the Utah Division of Securities, where he supported legal and regulatory initiatives involving financial and securities matters, helping prepare for investigations as well as prosecution. This experience contributes to his diligent advocacy when representing clients through all stages of complex business disputes and regulatory matters, as well as his strategic, detail-oriented counsel to ensure federal and state compliance.
Earlier in his career, Tyler worked in the Division as a securities examiner, where he investigated alleged securities violations, white collar crime, and complex financial fraud schemes; conducted witness and subject interviews; performed legal research and analysis; and utilized forensic accounting techniques to identify potential misconduct. He also regularly collaborated with state and federal agencies, including the Utah Attorney General’s Office, the FBI, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office on investigations and enforcement matters.
“Tyler joins us with unique public sector experience that supports highly adaptable decision-making – whether matters require aggressive proactivity or thoughtful risk aversion,” said Keith Call, office managing partner for Spencer Fane in Salt Lake City. “We look forward to welcoming him here in Salt Lake as well as to our national litigation team, where he will collaborate with top talents as he continues to establish his practice.”
Tyler completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah before earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law.
