Spencer Fane attorney Ruthie White was quoted in a recent SHRM article, Take Care with Last Chance Agreements.
The piece focuses on last chance agreements, a common agreement used with employees on the brink of termination. Ruthie and several other industry leaders spoke with reporter Allen Smith about such agreements’ purpose, challenges, and alternatives.
“If handled correctly, a last chance agreement provides a clear message about why an employee’s behavior is unacceptable and fully describes the consequences of such behavior in the future,” Ruthie shared.
At Spencer Fane, Ruthie co-leads the firm’s Labor and Employment practice group. She helps employers resolve labor and employment disputes in and out of court. Ruthie has an established track record of favorable outcomes in discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases while defending educational entities, local governments, and clients in the energy, banking, technology, retail, health care, and construction industries in legal venues throughout the state.
