Ruthie White Recognized as a ‘Trailblazer’

December 27, 2021

Spencer Fane attorney Ruthie White was recently selected as a “Trailblazer” by The American Lawyer for the Southern region. This honor recognizes attorneys that have “moved the needle in the legal industry.”

Ruthie was acknowledged in the Texas section for her success in her legal career and her efforts to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal field. She is an advocate for women and has served as a Board Member at the Fort Bend County Women’s Center and Association of Women Attorneys Foundation.

Ruthie is also the founder of the Downtown Group, a 200-member networking organization of African-American female lawyers, and is often an invited speaker for numerous professional and educational events.

“I have always had a vested interest in giving back to others and am humbled by every opportunity to help women of color be the best they can be,” Ruthie said to The American Lawyer. “Diversity in the legal profession serves the higher purpose of ensuring the legal system is fair and equitable and that all voices are represented and heard.”
