Spencer Fane attorneys Mary Bacon and John Browning recently authored articles featured in the Nevada Lawyer magazine and the Colorado Lawyer in honor of Black History Month.
Mary co-authored an article in the Nevada Lawyer magazine profiling Hon. Tierra D. Jones, the first African American woman to serve as a district court judge in Nevada. The article outlined Tierra’s career, accomplishments, and personal life.
John’s article in the Colorado Lawyer highlights Colorado’s first African American lawyers, Edwin Henry Hackley, Joseph H. Stuart, William Townsend, George Ross, Thomas Campbell, and Samuel Cary. John describes their backgrounds and contributions to the legal profession.
