Mark Nelson Discusses NLRB Complaint Spike, Labor Relations in Star Tribune

November 6, 2023

Spencer Fane attorney Mark Nelson discussed the increase in National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) complaints – both nationally and locally in Minnesota – in a conversation with Star Tribune reporter Dee DePass.

In the article, Federal Worker Complaints Rise with Union Activity in Minnesota, Mark shared why the labor issues currently facing employers stem from miscommunication in the workplace, saying, “the ‘why’ rests in the continuing disconnect between management and workers, plus pandemic-induced return-to-work battles.”

Mark stated, “I know law firms and other professional organizations are fighting battles [or] having challenges getting people to come back to the office five days a week. Well, that results in unfair labor practice complaints and organizing activities.”

At Spencer Fane, Mark directly works with business management leaders to provide innovative and effective strategies related to human resources counseling, employment litigation, and traditional labor law, helping identify risks and equip them with the tools necessary to minimize the time and resources spent on legal matters. He maintains an intentional focus on each client’s unique business goals and objectives.
