Loren Mulraine Examines Fair Use Law for CPIP Summer IP Institute

Spencer Fane attorney Loren Mulraine spoke at the Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property (CPIP)’s 2025 Summer IP Institute on July 30 in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

The three-day event featured several educational panels and research presentations on current IP challenges such as patent reform, price controls, social media and copyright, and more. Loren joined the Fair Use After Warhol / Google panel, which discussed the impact of U.S. Supreme Court rulings in the copyright infringement lawsuits Warhol Foundation v. Goldsmith and Google v. Oracle.

At the firm, Loren – who was recently honored in Best Lawyers in America for the third consecutive year – harnesses a deep understanding of the creative elements of the entertainment and media industries alongside his extensive legal skills to protect his clients’ intellectual property, build their business enterprises, and advocate for social justice. He has represented Grammy, Dove, and Stellar award winners; gold-, platinum-, and multiplatinum-selling artists; and professionals in the music, media, film/TV, theater, and sports industries. Loren is also a professor and director of Music and Entertainment Law Studies at Belmont University College of Law.
