Spencer Fane attorney Keith Call outlined his own best practices for remaining positive and respectful in the face of adversity on the job in an article published in the November/December issue of the Utah Bar Journal. The article is part of his regular Focus on Ethics & Civility series.

In the article, Traversing the Treacherous Path of Controversy, Keith shared a plea for promoting civility in a difficult job, with lessons learned during the course of his career. Keith concluded “What we say, what we do, and how we act matters. Our society has entrusted lawyers to help people traverse the treacherous paths of controversy. That is a special trust, and we can choose to do it in a way that builds and promotes our democracy, or one that chips away at its foundations. For the sake of our civil society, we must exercise our licenses to practice law with dignity, civility, and zeal.”
