Spencer Fane attorney Julie Roth recently published an article in Journal of American Health Information Management Association on the potential privacy issues associated with pager use in hospitals.
Titled “Don’t Let Pagers Blindside Your Privacy and Security Program” Julie’s article outlines the risks of using pagers in hospitals.
“Although pagers can be an important means of communication, the unfortunate reality is that many pager messages are easily intercepted and retained by anyone with a computer, inexpensive hardware, and software-defined radio,” Julie explained.
