Julia Vander Weele Explains Impact COVID-19 has on Employee Benefits Plans

Spencer Fane attorney Julia Vander Weele was recently featured in an article for the Kansas City Business Journal covering the impact COVID-19 is having on employee health plans.

Titled “KC lawyer tackles tricky compliance questions on Covid benefits,” Julia explains how the Health and Human Services emergency declaration has impacted benefits plans, including what could be on the horizon when it expires.

“When the Health and Human Services emergency ends, an employer could presumably change their benefits at that point to no longer provide that first-dollar coverage prior to deductible, but you really should think about that from a comprehensive standpoint,” Julia explained in the article.
