Spencer Fane attorneys Jon Farnsworth and Karen Olson recently wrote an article for Medical Plastics News magazine on a new law that amends the California Integrated Waste Management Act with new regulations going into effect as of January 1, 2021.
Titled “Sharpening Up,” Jon and Karen’s article outlined the possible benefits for medical waste disposal companies while noting that manufacturers of drugs and sharps will have to review the requirements carefully.
“The law has a potentially sweeping effect because it encompasses all covered drugs and home-generated sharps waste that are sold or offered for sale in California,” Jon and Karen explained in the article.
