John Watson Provides Insight Into Ozone Investigation in Colorado

July 22, 2021

Spencer Fane John Watson recently published an article featured in Law360 covering Colorado Ozone Regulations and a recent noncompliance claim.

Titled “What Colorado Ozone Probes Mean For Oil And Gas Cos.,” the article discusses a request made by air quality modelers working in the Air Pollution Control Division (APCD) for an investigation into the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)’s policy decisions.

Discussing the importance of ozone compliance, John noted, “State and local governments in Colorado have no choice but to determine how to plan for – and force – reductions in the release of ozone precursors, to bring nonattainment areas into compliance with the ambient air quality standards.”

John also explained how the results of this investigation might impact oil and gas companies in the future.
