Jim Lodoen Receives 2025 Raeder Larson Public Service Award

Spencer Fane is pleased to announce attorney Jim Lodoen has been named 2025 recipient of the Minnesota State Bar Association Bankruptcy Section Raeder Larson Public Service Award.

This honor – for which Jim was formally celebrated at the July 15 award ceremony – recognizes a member of the Bankruptcy Section “for outstanding service to the public through the provision of pro bono legal services and dedication to a system of equal justice for all.” Jim earned this distinction for his dedicated work with the Volunteer Lawyers Network. His pro bono services in bankruptcy screening and financial counseling have helped countless individuals and families for more than 25 years, also netting Jim accolades from the University of St. Thomas and the Minnesota Lawyer.

Jim also helps secured lenders, subordinated lenders, private equity firms, and portfolio companies with the structuring and restructuring of indebtedness, monetizing of assets, and acquisition of distressed assets and businesses. Jim also has extensive experience in representing receivers and trustees in liquidating assets and in pursuing claw-back and avoidance actions with extensive experience in Ponzi scheme cases.
