Spencer fane attorney Jason Smith was recently interviewed for an article in the Springfield Business Journal discussing local lawsuits’ impact on mask ordinances.
Titled “Are masking, school cases tip of the iceberg for COVID lawsuits?” the article outlines the recent lawsuits seeking an injunction against the masking ordinances in Springfield and Branson.
“There’s this perception among the public that constitutional rights are an absolute,” Jason explained in the article, noting that the situation is not black or white. “We know that’s not true…Obviously, cities and municipalities can take action and pass laws and ordinances in the name of safety and health and protecting people within those cities.”
