January 4, 2024

Spencer Fane attorney Homayoon Rafatijo led a webinar for The Fly-Bottle on December 10.

During the event, Frozen in Time: The Static Nature of Legal Texts and the Controversy Surrounding Dobbs, Homayoon discussed the challenges of faithfully interpreting legal texts such as the U.S. Constitution with the aim of preserving the original intent of their drafters. Focusing on the U.S. Supreme Court’s controversial decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Homayoon explained jurisprudential tools that judges should utilize to interpret documents such as the Constitution.
