Spencer Fane attorney Ed Burdzinski has been elected President-Elect of the Southwest Association of Bank Counsel (SWABC) during the September 16th SWABC annual membership meeting in Fort Worth, Texas.
In his role, he will chair the organizing committee of the 2023 SWABC Annual Legal Conference, to be held in the fall of 2023.
SWABC serves lawyers in Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri, and New Mexico who represent financial institutions. Membership provides networking opportunities among bank lawyers, encourages the exchange of information on transaction techniques and developments in banking law, and offers CLE courses in all of its jurisdictions.
The SWABC Board of Directors has had a geographic balance, as well as a balance between member lawyers from major cities who primarily represent larger banking organizations and lawyers who represent community banks from smaller communities.
At Spencer Fane, Ed regularly delivers commercial loan documentation for financial institutions, including commercial construction, real estate, and asset-based credit facilities, with an understanding of the internal challenges facing his clients. He also negotiates with borrower representatives, title companies, and other parties, moving the transaction to closing while protecting the lender’s interests.
