Spencer Fane attorney Andrew Brought recently delivered a presentation centered on the U.S. EPA’s Risk Management Program (RMP) Final Rule, a set of Clean Air Act regulations that took effect in May 2024, at both the 117th annual Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) Conference & Exhibition and the 2024 EHS Hazmat Summit.
The RMP Rule aims to prevent chemical accidents and their subsequent impact on communities. On June 25, Drew provided an overview of this rule for the A&WMA Conference, which was held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. During the session, “How Does It Work? New Regulations in Canada and the USA,” Drew and his fellow panelists applied government, consulting, and legal perspectives, with Drew noting industry sectors, key dates, and relevant litigation for the RMP Rule.
For the July 14-17 EHS Hazmat Summit, Drew presented as part of the Regulatory Update track of the event’s programming. The Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) hosted this Kansas City conference.
At Spencer Fane, Drew counsels clients with complex challenges at the intersection of health, safety, and environmental regulations and is frequently called upon to assist in handling crisis management situations, strategic response, and incident investigations.
