Spencer Fane attorney David E. Waters has been named a 2024 NextGen Leader by the Kansas City Business Journal.
The program recognizes budding talent in the business community and connects the emerging leaders while helping build their knowledge and skill sets. A panel of judges selected the 25 NextGen Leaders based on their accomplishments, talents, and drive. David and his fellow honorees will be featured in a June 24 profile.
At Spencer Fane, David helps a diverse network of clients in the governmental, business, health care, and hospitality industries successfully handle the full range of legal needs related to successful real estate transactions, ensuring projects stay on time and on budget. He also currently serves as the Overland Park Office Managing Partner.
David’s municipal and public law work extends to local cities and school districts, and he counsels these clients with respect to governmental authority and procedures, economic development, legislative policy, and administrative enforcement. Uniquely, he also serves as an elected official and is currently the mayor for Westwood, Kansas, in the Kansas City metro area. He is a member of the board of directors for the City Attorneys Association of Kansas and is President for the Kansas Mayors Association.
