Spencer Fane attorneys Daniel Hwang and Lydia Bayley participated in the International Trademark Association (INTA)’s 35th Annual Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition on February 7 for the Chicago Regional held at the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
As the only U.S. moot court competition focused exclusively on trademark law, INTA’s Lefkowitz Competition draws on recent trademark court decisions and USPTO developments to provide a valuable educational experience for intellectual property law students from across the nation, which is enhanced by the knowledge of dozens of volunteer judges and IP practitioners working the event. Daniel has participated for 20 years, including service as National Chair for the Competition.
At Spencer Fane, Daniel and Lydia are both esteemed members of the firm’s Intellectual Property team. Daniel develops and protects valuable company brands, providing early-stage filling strategy, dispute readiness, risk management, litigation, and enforcement. Lydia harnesses robust experience in trademark prosecution and intellectual property litigation, regularly counseling clients across diverse industries on effective strategies to fully protect marketable products and services.
