“Top 10 Issues in Health Law 2021: #10 Risk Management and Professional Liability”
Spencer Fane attorneys Dale Burrus and Lauren Nelson recently co-authored an article on risk management and professional liability for legal professionals in health care. The article appeared in the cover story for the January 2021 edition of Health Law Connections magazine.
Specifically, Dale and Lauren looked at how the COVID-19 pandemic produced unique and novel operational, financial, and legal challenges.
“Many facilities approached this challenge through the lens of Enterprise Risk Management, incorporating all aspects of risk and assessing the organization as a whole,” Dale and Lauren wrote. “The evolving pandemic required daily evaluation. As one surge appears to be leading to yet another, facilities utilize lessons learned but now also face court interventions.”
