Ayesha Mehdi Joins Employment Panel at Nevada Healthcare Forum

November 10, 2022

Spencer Fane attorney Ayesha Mehdi spoke on the employment law issues most impacting the health care industry at the Nevada Healthcare Forum 2022 on October 6 in Las Vegas.

During her presentation, Employment Law in Healthcare, Ayesha covered the biggest employment law problems, including everything from abortion rights post Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization and the impact of legal recreational and medical marijuana use in Nevada to physician and executive noncompetes and hidden due diligence issues organizations should be aware of in transactions. Ayesha was joined on the panel by Jay DeVoy, an attorney at Holland & Hart, while Alex Backus, an editor at Newsweek, moderated the discussion.

With more than 300 national and local CEOs, legislators, and industry experts in attendance, the 14th annual symposium covered the hottest topics in health care, including the impact of health care reform and evolution on the industry and Nevadans, sweeping changes impacting the industry, opportunities for improving national and local health care delivery systems, nursing issues and practice in Nevada, changes in Medicare and Medicaid, and the move toward value-based reimbursement.

At Spencer Fane, Ayesha works closely with physicians and other health care professionals, along with various health care and closely held businesses, in a wide range of corporate, transactional, regulatory, and licensure matters. Ayesha is currently the Chair of the American Bar Association Health Law Section’s Fraud and Compliance interest group.
