Spencer Fane is pleased to announce attorney Allison Garrett has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award to Egypt’s Supreme Council of Universities from the U.S. Department of State and Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and aims to build lasting connections between the U.S. and other countries. As a participant, Allison completed a project focused on exchanging knowledge and establishing partnerships benefiting participants, institutions, and communities both in the U.S. and overseas through a variety of educational and training activities within education.
“The Fulbright Specialist project was an extraordinary professional opportunity that deepened my understanding of higher education on a global scale,” Allison said. “The opportunities to speak about and have in-depth discussions about data governance, policy matters, and the impact of technology provided me with invaluable insights into Egypt’s dynamic higher education landscape.”
Program participants are selected based on academic and professional achievement, demonstrated leadership in their field, and their potential to foster long-term cooperation between institutions in the program’s 160-plus participating countries. Fulbrighters address critical global issues in all disciplines, and program alumni have achieved distinction in many fields, including 60 who have been awarded the Nobel Prize, 88 who have received Pulitzer Prizes, and 39 who have served as a head of state or government.
