Spencer Fane professional Allen Darrah recently joined a keynote panel for the Technology Executives Club CIOs Unleashed video series to discuss emerging A/I-based technologies and automation tools. Technology Executives Club is an online executive education, virtual peer advisory, and digital leadership coaching program for CIOs.
The panel – Leveraging A/I Based Technologies & Automation Tools for Quick Wins, New Processes, & Freed IT Resources – highlighted the impact of evolving A/I and automation technology on today’s workforce. Allen was joined by Plante Moran’s Stacey Mansker-Young and The Auto Club Group’s Lori Pon. They shared lessons learned and success stories from their roles as IT leaders in growing organizations. CIOs Unleashed host Alex Jarrett served as moderator for the discussion.
“I was happy to share Spencer Fane’s experience leveraging AI and automation with the Technology Executives Club,” said Allen. “The Club is a remarkable resource for leaders. Spencer Fane’s story was worth sharing. During CIOs Unleashed, I shared how we used listening roundtables with our colleagues at the firm to discover what they didn’t like about IT. It turns out that onboarding was a major pain point we hadn’t detected. Onboarding is a sore spot for lots of organizations, and at a hyper-growth law firm, it’s mission-critical. With that knowledge, we designed AI and automation solutions over several months to address the firm’s needs, checking in with stakeholders along the way. Now that it’s rolled out, I don’t know how we did without it before. What used to take days now takes seconds. And we’ve received excellent feedback on our streamlined onboarding process.”
At Spencer Fane, Allen works as the Head of Information Services. He provides leadership to a cross-functional team across all firm locations to evaluate and continually improve technology operations’ performance, stability, privacy, and security. In 2020, he was honored as an Unsung Legal Hero by Missouri Lawyers Media for his exceptional efforts during the firm’s pandemic transition to remote work.
