Spencer Fane is pleased to announce the results of its third annual Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance (LEAP) Basket Auction Fundraiser. Through the efforts of Kansas City summer associates Alexis Denny, Henry Hong, Ivana Easley, and Matthew Swords, the fundraiser raised nearly $4,000 for Operation Breakthrough.
Alexis, Henry, Ivana, and Matthew organized the raffle of three “baskets” featuring different themes that included local treats, merchandise, and/or event tickets. The money raised set a personal record for the firm’s summer fundraiser and secured first place for Spencer Fane in LEAP’s annual B2SB fundraising competition.
Founded in 1971, Operation Breakthrough seeks to help impoverished children develop to their fullest potential by providing them with a safe, loving, and educational environment. The center also strives to support and empower the children’s families through advocacy, referral services, and emergency aid.
With this year’s Spencer Fane basket auction funds, Operation Breakthrough will be able to provide approximately 99 schoolchildren with book bags, school supplies, and uniforms.
