A.J. Ferate Joins Tribal Law Panel at Tenth Circuit CLE Program

Spencer Fane attorney A.J. Ferate was a panelist for Sovereignty Day Hot Topics in Federal Indian Law on July 9-10 in Oklahoma City.

Hosted by the Tenth Circuit Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Tribal Relations, this two-day educational program advanced Circuit initiatives around federal judiciary communication, legal education, and collaborating with tribal governments and organizations. AJ’s panel – Hot Topics in Tribal Participation in Administrative Litigation, Sacred Sites Protection and Religious Exercise, and International Human Rights Bodies – examined tribal administrative law cases post-Loper Bright, environmental permitting challenges, and religious exercise/sacred sites protection cases. Topics included recent Ninth Circuit cases and how tribes currently engage with international human rights bodies.
