Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome Emma Galligan to the firm’s Phoenix office as an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, where Emma will focus her practice on trust and estate disputes, probate litigation, and elder law.
Following a judicial law clerkship within the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One, Emma joins the firm with an in-depth understanding of judicial decision-making. She will assist clients through all phases of litigation and dispute resolution, applying practical, proactive strategies and an empathetic approach to complex and sensitive disputes.
During her judicial clerkship, Emma conducted case analyses and assisted in drafting judicial decisions. She completed multiple other externships spanning the public and private sectors while in law school.
“Emma has built a strong foundation of diverse internship experience as she begins her career as a litigator,” said David E. Funkhouser III, office managing partner for Spencer Fane in Phoenix. “We look forward to bolstering her professional growth through the strong collaboration and collegiality that the firm’s largest practice group is known for, as well as the equally spirited and supportive mentality of our team here in Phoenix.”
Emma notably speaks Spanish fluently and German with a professional working proficiency, allowing her to advise a more diverse client base. She previously served as a translator and legal volunteer for Casa Alitas, a humanitarian aid program that assists asylum-seeking families.
Emma earned both her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude and her Juris Doctor from Arizona State University.
