Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome Eva G. Osthus to the firm’s Phoenix office as an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, where she will focus on family law matters.
Eva supports businesses, families, and individuals through all phases of litigation and dispute resolution with a primary focus on family law. Her approach to advocacy prioritizes comprehensive planning and analysis. To resolve disputes as early and effectively as possible, she performs detailed legal research, drafts and reviews all necessary documents, and thoroughly prepares arguments for trial and appeal.
Prior to entering private practice, Eva served as a judicial law clerk within the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One, where she gained hands-on appellate experience and valuable insight into judicial decision-making, experience which informs how she approaches litigation and family law strategy for her clients.
“Eva demonstrates a high capacity for diligent preparation and attentive client service and will be a great support to our litigation team as her practice grows,” said David E. Funkhouser III, office managing partner for Spencer Fane in Phoenix. “The Phoenix office is excited to continue welcoming talented associates with strengths and interests across several practice areas.”
“Eva clerked at the Arizona Court of Appeals, and it shows. She sees how a judge will read an argument before she makes it,” added Norma Izzo, chair of the Spencer Fane Family Law Practice Group. “Family law asks a great deal of the people who practice it and the families who rely on it. Eva is the kind of attorney those families are fortunate to have.”
Eva obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota before earning her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She is licensed to practice in both Arizona and Minnesota.
